Hal is known throughout the community as the "friendly physician".  He spreads his friendly message to several Jewish organizations, including the Bureau.  He has been a past president of the Bureau as well as of JSI (now Tarbut v'Torah) and Temple Beth Emet.  He has also participated in USCJ-PSWR, USCJ, the Jewish Federation of Orange County, JNF, AJC, JESNA...and the list goes on.  He is a Vice President of United Synagogue.

He is married and the proud parent of three children and six grandchildren.
