As much as Jewish scholarship is at the core of Rabbi Jeret's leadership, music has always been central to Rabbi Jeret's spiritual expression. As a child, he performed and recorded contemporary Jewish music as the Lead Soloist of the Miami Boys Choir. Upon returning to the USA at the age of 20, having concluded collegiate studies and advanced Jewish study in Israel, Rabbi Jeret pursued a career as a professional songwriter (Country and Popular Music). He wrote and published numerous songs while owning and managing a recording studio in New Jersey. Rabbi Jeret's journey as a Jewish professional began when, in his mid-twenties, he became the founding Educational Director of The Learning Center of The United Synagogue of Hoboken, NJ. His graduate studies in Jewish Education led him to earn the following advanced degrees:
Over the course of his first 15 years of service in Jewish professional leadership, Rabbi Jeret has served primarily in the following capacities, in addition to engagements as Scholar in Residence and various volunteer-involvements, locally and nationally:
Prior to his invitation to serve as President of The Brandeis-Bardin Institute, Rabbi Jeret served as Spiritual Leader both Congregation Beth Ahm in Verona, NJ and Temple Emanu-El of Palm Beach, FL, where his leadership energized one of the Conservative Movement's flagship synagogues. Rabbi Jeret's dynamic leadership is characterized by his warmth of personality, spiritual depth, authentic Jewish scholarship, and innovation. Rabbi Jeret was invited in the March 2004 to serve as the President of The Brandeis-Bardin Institute in Brandeis, CA. His vision of the Jewish future, his spiritual presence, and his commitment to the welfare and strengthening of the Jewish People remain the cornerstones of his rabbinate and bring great promise to The Brandeis-Bardin Institute, an Institute whose core mission is to enhance and deepen Jewish life. He resides with his wife, Arianna, and his son, Jacob, in Tarzana, CA.
